Cover me!

I have not yet watched Escape from Galaxy 3, but I still have more than forty-eight whole hours. This means you probably won't get the review until after I have closed the "F" poll (Saturday at midnight ... or as soon thereafter as I can get on-line).

Instead, this is a bit about the cover for the film. I could not find a good link on-line to the picture of the front cover of my copy. So I will simply talk about the tag-line:

"WITH THE SAME ACTION-PACKED, INTERGALACTIC PUNCH AS DEF-CON AND 2001: A SPACE ODYSSEY!"

Now, when I first saw this tag, I wondered which cut of 2001 was action-packed. lunargeography then pointed out that all the action took place within the solar system, so it was hardly intergalactic. Intragalactic, yes. Intergalactic, no.

And finally ... Def-Con? Def-Con? Do any of you know of a movie called Def-Con? I remember Def-Con 4, but I don't believe the action left the earth's orbit.

This doesn't even begin to bring up the issue of the back cover text. Or the front cover illustration with its poor deformed foreshortened man.

Regardless of the rest of the film ... this is a Worst Cover Copy nominee. Good job everyone who voted for it.
